RUWDEC Beats farewell to its 2016 D'Girls participants.

Launched on 25 June, the 2016 D'Girls Holiday program organized by Rural Women Development Center (RUWDEC) Buea finally came to a wonderful end. For over two months, participants of the program were drilled on leadership, entrepreneurship, peace, arts work community service and lots more.The program brought together emerging and inspiring leaders from the South West Region whose inspiration steered up the desire of young people and forceed them think positive about themselves and their communities. Some of the trainers during the program were; Mr.Churchill Mambe, Mr.Ntui Oben Obi Agbor,Miss Morfaw Ruddy, Marilyn Ndjemo, Mirabel Ngong, Konda Delphine, Ruddy Yoland, Djeumo Cyrille, Etaka Edia and lots more.

Participants during the program were taken to some interesting places such as the Limbe Botanica Garden and the Limbe Beach where they appreciated the touristic content of the South West Region. It should be noted that for the past years RUWDEC has been organizing residential programs for Youths but this year decided to organize a longer one where younger people who were not able   to participate in previous editions could have the opportunity to.
Speaking during the closing Ceremony on Friday 26 August 2016, Miss Yonga Nelly Shella-Coordinator of RUWDEC thanked all parents for trusting their children with them and called on the participants to make good use of the knowledge gotten. She also appreciated the Fascilitators and trainers who could not resist RUWDEC's invitation to transform young minds and make them change makers in their respective communities. Miss Tina Enow who was the coordinator of the program regretted that the 2016 amazing set of participants were leaving and called on them to share the experience with others so that they too will become active citizens.

some of the participants of the program were able to produce paper bags, design clothes, make beats, flower jars and beautiful picture frames. one of the most inspiration aspects of the program was the orphanage visit where the participants and staff of RUWDEC had the opportunity to visit the Roots 4 Kids orphage at Bokova-Buea. They planted trees, did cleaning, had a motivational session with Mr.Ntui Oben Obi Agbor, shared gifts and many other interesting things with children at the orphanage. with all the richness of the program, some parents who were present could not hide their feelings, they thanked the management of RUWDEC for the brilliant initiative and promised to guide their children in accomplishing their dreams.The participants went home with wonderful gifts and Certificates of participation offered by RUWDEC and partners.

With the close of the 2016 D'Girls holday program, the organising committee of the program can now rest to continue some time next year with the preparation of the 2017 Edition which many parents await.
